Another year is rolling around and when you look back on your results, are you proud of them?

I remember year after year I would look back and think, "I had some movement, but dang it, why can't I break out of this funk and get to the next level?"

It was like my business had hit a wall and I was stuck.

My people were falling off the back end as fast as I was putting them into the front end and even then I wasn't attracting the right people because the ones I was bringing in were not even duplicating.

Frustration was setting in and I was getting pretty overwhelmed at what to do break this funk and change my results.

Getting Results is NOT always about more action!

Maybe your sponsor or upline has told you to talk to more people, have more meetings, message more cold market. If you have believed this is really is a numbers game, you might want to listen up.

It's not and I can show you why.

Whether you talk to 50 or 500 prospects, if you don't know what to say to them, if you don't know how to follow up,  if you don't know how to close, it's all in vain. Do you see?

It doesn't matter how many parties you have, it doesn't matter how many one-on-ones you have, skill trumps quantity.

So let's say you had 25 people come to your class every single week, but you didn't know how to close them… your results would be zero.

So you see, skill has to come before quantity.

When Your Investment is Greater Than You Return, It's Time For A Change

Let's take a genuine look at the results that you're getting.

Have you ever done a simple calculation to see how many hours a week of work you're putting in and what the return on your investment of time is?

For example, it might take you 7 hours to pull off a home event. Maybe you spend an hour inviting people, an hour following up, an hour to get all of your supplies together, an hour of driving, two hours to execute the meeting and another hour of wrapping up with the hostess  (or cleaning up your house) and putting away the supplies. Now let's say you made a couple sales which brought you in a $100 in commissions.  This leaves you with a $14 an hour paycheck.

Maybe $14 dollars an hour is a great income for you, if so, congratulations.

If you did this every week, you would bring home $400 dollars a month. But will $400 dollars a month really change your life?

It's super easy to work really hard and forget to look at our investment of time. If the time invested is greater than the results we are achieving; then it's time for a new strategy.

You never want to be upside down in your business.

Keep Your Focus On Results

So if your find you are upside in your business or you are investing more than you are getting in return. If this feels like you are up against a wall with your results then it's time to take a good look at what strategies you are executing.

Because you are in a stall and it's not just related to our industry,

For example, let's look at what Mario Andretti, a famous race car driver, does to make sure he doesn't hit a wall during his races.

During an interview with SUCCESS magazine, Andretti was asked for his number one tip for success in race car driving. He said, “Don’t look at the wall. Your car goes where your eyes go.”

You see, to be an effective race car driver, you need to be always looking through the top 1/3 of the windshield. Keep your eyes on where you want to go in the distance. Don't just look in front of the hood.  Look where you want to drive to, and you'll drive there.

Getting results is about not hitting a wall, not being distracted with things like criticism and negativity from other people.

And if you focus on it, then you’ll run right into it.

You’ll get blocked by negative emotions, anger, fear and self-doubt.

Your mind will go where your attention is focused.

Criticism and negativity they won't stop you unless you make it your focus.

So focus on the road out in front of you; focus on moving forward, then you can safely speed past the walls and barriers that are nearby.

3 Steps to Get Results This Next Year

To have the best year yet, here are 3 simple steps to help you step into the results you desire.

1. Focus out ahead of you.  See where you want to be and then ask yourself questions.  Questions keep you open to possibility, it keeps you curious and curious keeps you moving forward.

If you are blindly following what your up-line is saying, you are missing it.

No one is ever successful being a repeat because there is nothing new with repeating.

Set a result that you are looking for and map out a reasonable plan to get there that has achievable little results along the way.

2. Connect with people that don't just talk about doing something but are actually getting the results you are looking for and then stay active with them.

Sometimes we have to step out of our circle and enter a circle of real action takers who are actually getting real results.

Don't be a fly on the wall when you arrive; communicate, ask questions, make a friend. Get involved.

3. Take the next step... even If you are afraid.

Do the next step being afraid because the next step is what is going to take you to the 3rd step. If you don't take step 2... you never will get to step 3.

The people you admire most did something while being afraid.

That's why we admire them, right?

The reality is, everyone that is successful is in that place because they took time to grow their skills and they never stopped learning.

Successful people are always learning and executing.

Because those that have knowledge and execution separate themselves from those that don't want to do the work.

Most people want something for free. Most people want it easy.

That's not what I am talking about today.

Having a different year next year is only beneficial if you take the time to make it different.
